A tribute gift to the Y commemorates or honors a special person such as a loved one, friend, or colleague.
These gifts are often made to celebrate a milestone, acknowledge the birth of a baby, recognize a birthday or anniversary, thank a Y staff member, or remember a loved one. We will acknowledge your gift and notify the person being honored, or next-of-kin, of your kind and thoughtful charitable contribution without disclosing the gift amount.
These gifts will allow the Y to continue its important mission of service to our communities.
Many families choose to ask others to make a charitable gift in lieu of flowers in an obituary. Suggested wording:
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the YMCA (Branch Name) in memory of [individual’s name]. Gifts can be made online at www.ghymca.org. To make a gift by mail, please send checks payable to: YMCA (Branch Name), Attn: Memorial Gifts, Central Gift Processing Center, 50 State House Square, 2nd Floor, Hartford, CT 06013. Please include the name of the honoree in the memo line.
