At camp, kids are encouraged to be themselves and become independent.

In 2018, over $750,000 of financial assistance was distributed to more than 1,200 children who participated in one of the YMCA of Greater Hartford's transformative overnight and day camps.

 

SUMMER CAMP IMPACT

  • 57% of day campers and 60% of overnight campers reported they have become more physically active
  • 59% of day campers and 81% of overnight campers reported making new friends
  • 49% of day campers and 66% of overnight campers reported  building confidence
  • 58% of day camp respondents and 72% of overnight camp  respondents reported that the Y is a resource for nurturing the potential of children.
