HL Race for Chase Training

Chase Kowalski was amazing child from Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut who loved to run. To honor his legacy, The Race 4 Chase Triathlon Program was created to provide youth with a fun, life-changing experience by introducing them to the sport of triathlon.

The Race4Chase Kid’s Triathlon program is a youth triathlon program aimed to provide kids aged 6 to 12 with a safe, healthy non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon.  It bring together kids from all different backgrounds and educates them on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, coaches them to develop a foundation of athletic skills, and inspires them to aim high in sports and in life.

The training camp runs for 6 weeks, followed by the race. Race day is the culmination of the program.  Athletes enrolled in the Hale YMCA Race 4 Chase program will participate in the triathlon held at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

All abilities are welcome. Bikes and helmets are available.  Swim and bike riding instruction also available.
