The Y's focus is on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. At the YMCA of Greater Hartford, the goal of our child development programs is to nurture young people by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-confidence.
The YMCA of Greater Hartford uses the Early Learning Development Standards (ELDS) for infant, toddler and preschool children by the Connecticut Department of Education. These standards align with the Common Core, preparing children for kindergarten and life. In addition to meeting ELDS expectations, we also collaborate with many local and state organizations to offer the highest quality enrichment experience for your child.

The YMCA of Greater Hartford is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization open to all and committed to helping people develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body. The commitment is reinforced by our belief in living out the universal values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA of Greater Hartford is here to serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes. The YMCA is community based and believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone.
We strive to serve the entire community by providing financial assistance, which is determined by an individual applicant's needs. The money used to fund this program is made possible by charitable donations made to the YMCA's Annual Campaign by friends and members.
Financial assistance is granted based on the need demonstrated by household income and/or extenuating circumstances. Learn more!
