January 16: The timing assignments have been posted for the 13 and over Y State Championships (January 18-19). There has been a change to the afternoon session (impacts 13/14 swimmers). The warm up will now be at 12:15pm with a 2:30pm start. Click here to read important parent information regarding the meet. Especially the parking, as it will be off-site with a shuttle.
Also, save the date for the LEHY Annual Banquet and Senior Recognition. It will be Friday, March 29, 2019 at a TBD time (but not before 5pm).
January 11: Results from the GRIT Age Group Qualifier have been updated. The 8 and under finale entry has been updated. We will NOT be attending the CDOG distance meet on February 8, 2019.

January 8: There will NOT be practice for EHHS practice swimmers on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Practice is on as scheduled for Sunday, January 20, 2019.

LEHY Bowling Party: All families/bowlers are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the East Hartford Food Bank, as well as a snack to share with the group. Pizza and soda and shoe rental are included in the cost.

EHHS Practice Swimmers: Practice on Friday, December 7th will be at EHMS from 5:30-7:30 pm. There will not be practice at the high school.
The holiday practice schedule will be posted by Monday, December 10th.
November 29: IMPORTANT TIME & SCHEDULE CHANGES TO MIT INVITATIONAL
Due to the meet being so large we are adjusting sessions to take care of the athletes and creating a safe atmosphere for swimmers to compete, below are those adjustments.
Thursday Session: Warm Up 4:30-5:10 PM, Meet Start: 5:15 PM
Friday Session(all ages:) Warm Up–7:30-8:45AM,Meet Start: 8:50AM

November 23: Just to avoid any confusion practice TONIGHT- 4:45-6:45 pm (11/23), Saturday- 8:00-10:00 am (11/24) and Sunday- 12:00-2:00 pm (11/25) are all at the Farmington Valley YMCA in Granby.
November 21 Time standards have been posted for Age Groups and CT Senior Championships.
November 20 Entries have been posted for the GRIT Invite and the HHAC Invite in January.

We still have not heard from MIT about the additions. I will let people know as soon as I do. I am being patient so I do not jeopardize our team being invited in the future.
NOVEMBER 19: Just an update to practice this week for all swimmers practicing at EHHS:
Monday, November 19- practice from 4:00-6:30 pm.
Tuesday, November 20- we will begin practice at 4:00 pm for those swimmers who need to get out early for their high school swim banquets. Practice will still end at 6:30 pm.
**Keep your fingers crossed the weather is not bad. I am hearing a chance of snow.
Wednesday, November 21- we will begin practice at 4:00 pm. Practice will still end at 6:30 pm.
Thursday, November 22- NO PRACTICE, HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Friday, November 23- 4:45-6:45 pm (we will be practicing WITH Farmington Valley)
Saturday, November 24- 8:00-10:00 AM at Farmington Valley Y in Granby (Please do not make this your first practice of the week.)
Sunday, November 25- 12:00-2:00 PM at Farmington Valley Y in Granby. (ADDITIONAL PRACTICE). Swimmers with MIT cuts and above only
November 15: East Hartford Public Schools have canceled all after school activities. We will not have practices today.
November 14: Just a friendly reminder, if East Hartford Public Schools cancel after school activities or school then we DO NOT have practice. Please watch the news channels (WFSB 3, WVIT 30, WTNH 8) for updates. If we hear earlier we will send out an email and post it on the website.
If the weather is bad, and for some reason after school activities are not cancelled we (the coaches) will make a decision in the best interest of our families safety. We will try to send emails out a minimum of one hour prior to the beginning of practice, so please check your email.

November 7: Timing assignments have been posted for the HHAC Quadrathon and Pentathlon on Saturday, November 10.
October 30: Meet announcement and entry sign up dates have been posted for meets during the second half of the season. Please check it as some of the meet sign up deadlines are in November.
Cut off times have been posted for the EZ Age Group Championship. Hotel Booking information is also posted. A LEHY Coach room has been reserved at Hampton Inn Rochester Irondequoit ($109 a night with free breakfast!). Reminder, families are responsible for the club costs associated with this meet. Cost will depend on the number of swimmers attending.
October 24: Results for the Freestyle Frenzy have been posted.
October 23: The warm up for LEHY 13 and over swimmers at the LEHY Aquafest has been moved to 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. All 13 and over LEHY Swimmers will have warm up at this time. Please take note and do not be late for warm ups.
October 22: Entry for CDOG 10 and under meet has been posted.

October 15: The WWRX Freestyle Frenzy is lightly attended and the two Saturday Sessions are going to be combined. So warm up and start times are the same for ALL swimmers. There is no afternoon session. Saturday for all swimmers: Warm-up 7:30am; Start Time 8:35am. This is no impact to the 12 and unders but is to the 13 and over swimmers. If you have a 13 and over swimmer who can no longer attend due to the time change please let Kaeley know. Timing assignments have been posted for the WWRX Freestyle frenzy and the SYS dual meet.
October 9: Entry for the LEHY vs SYS dual meet has been posted.
October 7: Meet entries have been posted for the LEHY 1650, LEHY Aquafest, HHAC 8 and under Quadrathon, and HHAC 12 and under Pentathlon.
October 1: 2018-2019 SC meet schedule has been updated.
September 30: LEHY practice schedule has been updated for EHHS swimmers. We have placed an order for custom PURA VIDA bracelets!! These bracelets are very popular right now. Founded in Costa Rica, Pura Vida Bracelets provides sustainable jobs to artisans worldwide and raises awareness for charities with products that give back. Each bracelet will be $6.00 and all profits will go to off set relay costs at meets throughout the season.

As of now we have only ordered 50 of each. If we go above that number we will order more. They take 8-10 weeks to be delivered so the first order should be in for the holidays. That being said, they are first come first serve for the first order. To order, sign up on the Google document: Payment needs to get to Kaeley by the end of October at the Aquafest.

September 25: Information regarding observation of high school swim meets. This policy must be followed to ensure that times achieved at certain high school meets will be considered official USA Swimming times. CT Swimming now REQUIRES an application to be submitted requesting observation of a high school meet. The application must be submitted in advance and officials must be secured in advance. Furthermore conference, class trials, class finals, and the open are all eligible for observation if proper procedures are followed.

The warm up for the LEHY Quad meet on December 1 has been changed to 7:30am.
September 19: Entry for MIT Invitational has been posted on the Meet Schedule page. We will be updated after each meet until updates are no longer accepted. We cannot guarantee new swimmers and/or newly qualified events will be allowed to be added to this entry. For the past three years we have not been allowed to add swimmers to the original entry.
September 17: Meet entry sign up deadlines have been posted for ALL meets through December (check the Meet Schedule page). Please make sure you make note of the dates. If your swimmers is not signed up, they will not be added at a later date. All entry deadlines are done by the middle of October. HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS- PLEASE REMEMBER YOU MUST SIGN UP IN ORDER TO BE ENTERED IN THE MEETS. If you are planning on attending, make an effort to get into the pool or have someone else sign you up. Swimmers can be signed up at either pool for all meets except 12 and under only meets. Any questions please contact your coach.
September 16: Practice at the middle school for the regular practice group will be from 5:30-6:30 pm on Friday, September 21st due to the Pizza Party and Parent Meeting. Just a reminder....the deadline to sign up for the LEHY Pizza Party is TOMORROW. The link to signing up on the Google Doc is below. Please make sure you sign. September 14: Meet announcements for all meets through December have been posted. Entries will be posted at the pool next week for many of the meets.
September 13: The Metro Swim Shop Order Form has been UPDATED for the suit up night on Friday, September 21st. Everything is the same, we have just added an item. Speedo Unisex 3/4 Zip Pullover Gray with Red Trim LEHY Swimming with a lightning bolt will be embroidered on the front. The Y logo will be screen printed on the yolk of the neck and you can get a name embroidered on the sleeve for an additional cost. Deb Cosme will have jackets to try on at the fitting.

CLICK HERE for LEHY Apparel samples We have a new item (Polo shirts for parents, baseball shirts, fleece full zip jackets) and a new t-shirt on the order form. The quote on the T-shirt this year will be EXCEED EXPECTATIONS.
Full warm up, parkas, and backpacks will be available through Metro Swim Shop. The jacket available through this order form is more of an outdoor jacket but the kids do wear it on the pool deck. The deadline for this apparel is Friday, September 28, 2018. Forms should be returned to Maria Pitchell at the middle school and to Kaeley at the high school. We want the orders to be in for everyone by the beginning on November if possible.
Registration for the 2018-2019 SC season will close by October 1, 2018. Anyone interested in joining should register now.

The rate of $119 per night, cheapest around. The rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis. If we fill all the rooms quickly more rooms might be able to added, but no guarantees. Sunday, October 14, 2018: Top 16 athletes and Scholar Athletes wishing to order an award jacket must place an order with Boathouse by Sunday, October 14, 2018. Eligible athletes wishing to attend the banquet only (no recognition award) must place a reservation by Sunday, October 14, 2018.

Friday, September 21st- LEHY Annual Pizza Party and Parent Informational Meeting. 6:45-8:30pm at EH YMCA (770 Main St., EH) - Come share a meal and have any questions answered about the LEHY program. An email will be sent out to sign up for the pizza party.
August 18: LEHY Try-outs are Wednesday, September 5th and Thursday, September 6th. Swimmers only need to attend one of the days.
DIRECTIONS TO EHMS: If you GPS East Hartford Middle School it will take you to the front of the building (on Burnside Ave). The entrance to the pool is around the corner on Scotland Rd. If you are at the front of the building go to the exit, take a left and then a left at the stoplight. This is Scotland Rd. The entrance to the pool will be your next left. LEHY Suit Up date- Friday, September 21 from 4:30-6:00 Pm at EHMS.
We are a volunteer organization and we need your help to continue to keep our program great!!! What do we need?
OFFICIALS- we always need parents to step up and become USA Swimming Officials. It is a great way to learn about the sport and be right on the pool deck. Any LEHY official would be happy to talk to you about the process and I will snd out information about clinics as it becomes available. Time and again, our officials have stepped up to help at meets and keep our timing assignments to a minimum.
PARENTS WILLING TO LEARN TIMING SYSTEM (COLORADO)- Best seat in the house at a swim meet! This is the equipment that runs the timing system at our meets. We need people to train and learn the system. We have experienced people who are ready to teach you. It is not difficult and a MUCH needed position when hosting our meets.
PARENTS WILLING TO LEARN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM- Collects all the data from the meet and is a pretty easy system to use once you know it. People can learn it in one weekend! WE have experienced people who are ready to teach you!
Championship Meet Requirements for 2019 CT Championships:
Regionals Championships- Compete in a minimum of 1 CT Sanctioned Meet
Age Group Championships- Compete in a minimum of 1 CT Sanctioned meet
CT Senior Championships- no meet requirement
Meet requirement for CT Scholar Athlete for 2018-2019 will most like be as followed: Applicant must have participated in an individual event in the summer 2018 Long Course Connecticut Senior Championship meet or the 2019 February Connecticut Senior Championship. Applicants also may qualify if they participated in two (2) regularly scheduled CSI sanctioned meets during the 2018 long course season and three (3) regularly scheduled CSI sanctioned meets during the 2018-2019 short course season. Information for 2018-2019 is not out yet for scholar athlete, but here is the link from this years so you can see what it will be like.
