00 Message from the Camp Director

We are proudly named for the mythical creature known to inhabit the woods of Glastonbury. The name Glawackus comes from Glastonbury- Wacky-Us, which couldn’t describe our camp any better! Our camp has a great reputation for being a place where children are safe and they feel good about themselves. This summer we will be making a few changes from the suggestions made by you.

Although our camp has made some changes, our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility (CHoRR) have not changed. These CHoRR values are why our camping programs stand out from all other camps. At the Glastonbury Family YMCA, we firmly believe these values are the most important values in life, and we teach them to the children attending our programs.

The Camp Glawackus staff and I would like to welcome the opportunity to be a part of your child’s summer camp experience and help them build lasting memories.

Come join us and see what all the fun is about!
—Betsey Pitt, Program Director of Fun
—Lindsay Mullen, Day Camp Director
