Breakers Swim Team Spring Clinics

The clinic will focus on improving participating swimmers’ technique in each of the four competitive strokes—butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. In addition, participants will learn how to perform and improve their racing starts, turns and finishes for each stroke.

The team’s highly-trained coaches will utilize various teaching methods. The clinic will incorporate classroom sessions involving lectures, videos demonstrating the key elements of each swimming facet, and group discussions. During those sessions, the clinic participants will be exposed to some age-appropriate science to better understand how they interact with the water, an important part of moving efficiently through it.

In the pool, the staff will utilize a series of drills to breakdown and build back up each swimmer’s strokes, starts, turns and finishes. The staff will also utilize video technology to allow athletes to see themselves swim and to record their progress.

During all of this, clinic participants will learn about the rules and regulations governing competitive swimming as well as swim practice and training etiquette.
