Have fun and learn to shoot with a certified Archery instructor. Students will learn proper form, technique, and terminology as well as scoring and range safety. This is a beginner/intermediate class with all equipment provided.

Youth Dodgeball

YMCA Youth Dodgeball is tons of fun for all kids ages 6 to 12. Players will use kid-friendly gator skin dodgeballs that eliminate sting and injury of rubber dodgeballs for fun and safe play. Safe rules will be enforced that encourage chest and below hits and prohibit head shots. Teams will be grouped by grade and skill level for fun and competitive play.

Gym Dandy, drop in play time (Ages crawling & up)

Family play time. Our entire 10,000 s/ft gymnasium is dedicated to this play group allowing exploration of gymnastics and sports, including preschool activities such as parachutes and tunnels!

 

This play group will enjoy activities for 1 hour followed by 30 minutes of story and craft time in our community rooms. Families are encouraged to bring snack for story time. No registration required; this is a weekly drop in playgroup. Bring some friends and meet new ones as well!

1) Tumblers Parent/Child (Ages18 month- 2.5 Yr)

Parents accompany children as they explore the world of movement through gymnastics. Classes begin with a group warm up, followed by exciting circuits for two to three events. Explore events including the trampoline, balance beam, bars, vault, rings, climbing, tunnels, hoops, parachutes, floor exercises & more! Upon reaching age 3, children may advance to Tuckers.

2) Tuckers (Ages 3)

Children participate independently from parents, and must be able to stay with a group and follow instructions. Classes begin with a group warm up, followed by exciting circuits for two to three events incorporating preschool equipment. Tunnels, hoops, parachutes, and more will be utilized. Learn forward rolls, swings, squat-ons, beam walks and more! Skills are taught on all apparatus. Upon reaching age 5, children may advance to Jumpers.

3) Jumpers (Ages 4-5)

Ready for more or just starting out? This class is for beginners in this age group and those ready for more from our Tucker class. Class begins with a group warm up, followed by two or three exciting gymnastics events incorporating preschool equipment such as tunnels, hoops, parachutes, & more! Learn handstands, cartwheels, pullovers, beam rolls, pike-ons and more! Children may advance to Rollers Beginner class at any time, provided they demonstrate an ability to follow instructions and an interest in learning more challenging skills.

1) Rollers Beginner (Ages 6 & Up)

This class is for first time gymnasts or children advancing from Jumpers. Children will practice on all gymnastics equipment, focusing on rolls, cartwheels, handstands, casts, pullovers & more! Gymnasts will progress at their own pace learning basic skills, body positions, safety, and gym rules. Beginners will be divided by age when possible. Children advance based on instructor recommendation.

2) Pikers Intermediate (Ages 6 & up)

This class is for children who have mastered the skills taught in Rollers. Children will improve basic skills and learn new ones, all while progressing at their own pace. Learn back hip circles, round-offs, dive rolls, candle stick roll-ups & more! Children advance based on instructor recommendation.

3) Kippers Advanced (Ages 6 & Up)

This 1.5h class is for intermediate to advanced gymnasts who have mastered the skills taught in Pikers. Gymnasts will improve their strength and flexibility while learning more challenging, advanced skills on all apparatus. Learn mill circles, beam handstands, round-offs, handstand flat back plus more! Children advance based on instructor recommendation.

This girls-only class is designed for children who are ready to learn more advanced gymnastics skills at a young age. Girls must demonstrate basic gymnastic ability and have good listening skills! This class will prepare gymnasts for Team Level 1 who are not quire ready to compete.

Ready to take it to a whole new level and join our team? Learn exciting routines on Olympic euipment and compete regionally in both USAG and YMCA leagues from levels 1 & up. YMCA leagues provide a more relaxed competitive atmosphere while USAG provides a more highly competitive environment. Choose to compete one or both; we have a league just right for you! Sports of all sorts! Each week a new sport is introduced including soccer, hockey, basketball, T-ball, and volleyball. Warm up and stretching is followed by skill development and a game. The children will learn team spirit and sportsmanship, all while having fun! Along the way, the children will also gain improved motor skills, hand eye coordination, and socialization.

Come join us for our summer Gymnastics Academy! Improve and learn new gymnastics skills with our experienced staff. Children will receive gymnastics instruction while having fun and learning values such as Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Each day includes gymnastics instruction plus activities including Swimming, Rock Wall Climbing, Crafts, Games, and outdoor activities! Games will be played without the emphasis on competition, but rather on creating a memorable, fun, and rewarding experience for all involved.

Come in the off season and work with our former Division I player and coach to develop and enhance your volleyball skills. This program is for beginners to advanced. Both males and females welcome. Jukido (Ages 6 - Adult)

Learn the basics of Jukido, a form of Jujitsu, which means "the way of gentle, flowing power". Jukido classes are a modern system of fitness for youth, stressing discipline, honor and loyalty. Participants will not only learn Jukido, but will also develop self-confidence, safety skills, good healthy habits, and responsibility.

Certified instructors who will acquaint participants with all equipment and procedures needed for successful climbing teach this two-hour class: belay techniques, harnessing, knot tying and fundamental climbing skills. Completion of this class is required to participate in Open Climbs. Taking and passing Belay Test is required.

Cliffhangers (Grades 5 - 8)

Teens have an opportunity to progress in climbing level throughout multiple sessions, with opportunities for progression in each session. Levels based on climbing skill, knowledge of safe climbing practices, and leadership within the class. This is a 1 or 2 hour class depending on branch.

For our fearless youngsters! Student must be able to take and follow directions independently to participate in this class. The instructor will assess student's readiness for this class during the first class meeting. Some branches require a Pre-requisite.
